Our weekly “Style Guide” for the latest trends!
Each week we will be styling our THRDS presenter Mr. Jay London in four unique ways, to showcase variations of how a key item of the season can be worn. This feature is our humble way of providing our readers with different style suggestions. We hope to guide and assist you with making good fashion choices, and show how to wear your favourite pieces.
The underdog of the shoe game, Palladium has been a brand simmering since 1947, however 2014 has seen the brand revamp itself and make quite the impression among the trendsetters of style. For this week’s How To Style we choose 2 of the new A/W styles. The Pampa Hi Zip Sage/Orange style, as this is one of the key collaborations to come from Palladium this year, they joined forces with Alpha Industries to create a collection that uses the very same material as the original MA -1 flight jacket. Our second style is the Pampa Hi Cuff 2 tonal sunrise/chocolate leather design; this is because we feel like the incorporation of leather, as well as the founding canvas, is a great addition to the brands selection of winter styles.
Sartorial – Palladium is historically known for being a casual sneaker, however we felt that thanks to the leather style of the Pampa Hi Cuff, you are able to place them within a smart look. In creating this look, we chose a colour palette that complemented that of the shoe. So our navy jacket from Parka, with wooden buttons is a nice match to that of the shoe. We’ve then selected light colours through the Penguin shirt and Grey River Island trousers, which even out the tone.
Trendy – We always like to get creative with the trendy elements, so we went for it and layered up with a white denim jacket from Publish Brand, then thrown a Levis wool mix on top. This look is for those who are not ready for the winter coat, but still want to stay warm! Plus, we’ve added some complementing colour through our green Tuk Tuk corduroys.
Casual – The move to the Pampa Hi Zip, this shoe is for the guy who’s on the move. Our causal guy might not make the biggest effort, but that’s not to say he hasn’t got places to be. So with this look, we went for a very autumn colour palate, a flattering skinny leg jean with an understated floral shirt from Anrekjendt and we’ve even got the autumn leaf design on the Aigle puffer jacket, which is set to weather the storm.
Hipster – If you love a collection, why not rock it all at once! That’s the attitude we got here, so for this look we’ve added the Alpha designed limited-edition City Explorer MA-1 flight jacket which was created to visually complement the boots, which, we have to say, totally does! So, if like us, you want to make a statement with 2 matching pieces, go for subtle colours in your combination, as we have with dark denim jeans from Topman and a white top from ADYN.
